ab640db010 [S390] tape message cleanup
This is a cleanup of all the messages this driver prints. It uses the
dev_message macros now.

23d75d9cad [S390] fix "mem=" handling in case of standby memory
Standby memory detected with the sclp interface gets always registered
with add_memory calls without considering the limitationt that the
"mem=" kernel paramater implies.
So fix this and only register standby memory that is below the specified
limit.
This fixes zfcpdump since it uses "mem=32M". In case there is appr.
2GB standby memory present all of usable memory would be used for the
struct pages needed for standby memory.

73ac36ea14 fix similar typos to successfull
When I review ocfs2 code, find there are 2 typos to "successfull". After
doing grep "successfull " in kernel tree, 22 typos found totally -- great

This patch fixes all the similar typos. Thanks for Randy's ack and comments.

a114a9d69d [S390] vmcp: remove BKL
The vmcp driver uses the session->mutex for concurrent access of the data
structures. Therefore, the BKL in vmcp_open does not protect against any
other function in the driver.
The BLK in vmcp_open would protect concurrent access to the module init
but all necessary steps ave finished before misc_register is called.
We can safely remove the lock_kernel from vcmp.

d4430d62fa [PATCH] beginning of methods conversion
To keep the size of changesets sane we split the switch by drivers;
to keep the damn thing bisectable we do the following:
	1) rename the affected methods, add ones with correct
prototypes, make (few) callers handle both. That's this changeset.
	2) for each driver convert to new methods. *ALL* drivers
are converted in this series.
	3) kill the old (renamed) methods.

Note that it _is_ a flagday; all in-tree drivers are converted and by the
end of this series no trace of old methods remain. The only reason why
we do that this way is to keep the damn thing bisectable and allow per-driver
debugging if anything goes wrong.

New methods:
	open(bdev, mode)
	release(disk, mode)
ioctl(bdev, mode, cmd, arg) /* Called without BKL */
	compat_ioctl(bdev, mode, cmd, arg)
locked_ioctl(bdev, mode, cmd, arg)	/* Called with BKL, legacy */

408aec3c6c [S390] 3215: Remove tasklet.
The 3215 console irq handler used to schedule a tasklet. However the
console irq handler also gets called from the infamous cio_tpi()
function. Which in turn does something like

local_bh_disable()
[call console irq handler]
_local_bh_enable()

_local_bh_enable() prevents execution of softirqs, which is intended
within cio_tpi(). However there might be a new softirq pending because
irq handler scheduled a tasklet.
In order to prevent this behaviour we just get rid of the tasklet.
It's not doing much anyway.

2332ce1a97 [S390] console flush on panic / reboot
The s390 console drivers use the unblank callback of the console
structure to flush the console buffer. In case of a panic or a
reboot the CPU doing the callback can block on the console i/o.
The other CPUs in the system continue to work. For panic this is
not a good idea.

Replace the unblank callback with proper panic/reboot notifier.
These get called after all but one CPU have been stopped.

5e34599fc8 [S390] sclp_tty: Fix scheduling while atomic bug.
Finally fixes a possible scheduling while in atomic context bug. The driver
used to wait on a waitqueue if no empty buffer was available. This could
lead to a deadlock if the driver was called from non-schedulable context.
So fix this. The write operation may fail now. It returns the number of
characters accepted. put_char will never fail, since it writes characters
to an intermediate buffer which gets flushed as soon as it is full.
That means the driver now can busy wait if something is in the intermediate
buffer and a write_string operation follows. Seems to be an acceptable
compromise, since that shouldn't happen too often.

095761d28a [S390] sclp_tty: remove ioctl interface.
After all we came to the conclusion that this interface doesn't make any
sense. Besides that the ioctl number used was never registered, the header
file isn't exported, and we doubt there is even a single user.
So remove this interface, since it eases maintenance.

67060d9c1f [S390] Fix section mismatch warnings.

with git commit 2069e978d5
("[S390] sparsemem vmemmap: initialize memmap.")

Calling the generic vmemmap_alloc_block() function to get initialized
memory is a nice idea, however that function is __meminit annotated
and therefore the function might be gone if we try to call it later.
This can happen if a DCSS segment gets added.

So basically revert the patch and clear the memmap explicitly to fix
the original bug.

f71ad62a26 [S390] tape: Fix race condition in tape block device driver
Due to incorrect function call sequence it can happen that a tape block
request is finished before the request is taken from the block request queue.

The following sequence leads to that condition:
 * tapeblock_start_request() -> start CCW program
 * Request finishes -> IO interrupt
 * tapeblock_end_request()
 * end_that_request_last()

If blkdev_dequeue_request() has not been called before end_that_request_last(),
a kernel bug is triggered in end_that_request_last() because the request is
still queued. To solve that problem blkdev_dequeue_request() has to be called
before starting the CCW program.

a695f16729 [S390] vmur: Use wait queue instead of mutex to serialize open
If user space opens a unit record device node then vmur is leaving the kernel

92bf435f38 [S390] tape: duplicate sysfs filename when setting tape device online
When a tape device is set online, offline and online again, the following
error message is printed on the console: "sysfs: duplicate filename
'non-rewinding' can not be created". The reason is that when setting a
device online, the tape driver creates a sysfs symlink from the tape device
to the tape class device. Unfortunately the symlink is not removed
correctly, when the device is set offline. Instead of passing the
tape device object to sysfs_remove_link, the class device object is used.
This patch fixes this problem and uses the correct tape device object now.

59eb1ca7a8 [S390] sclp_vt220: Fix vt220 initialization
There are two problems in the vt220 intialization:

o Currently the vt220 console looses early printk events until the
  the vt220 tty is registered.
o console should work if tty_register fails

sclp_vt220_con_init calls __sclp_vt220_init and register_console.
It does not register the driver with the sclp core code via
sclp_register. That results in an sclp_send_mask=0. Therefore,
__sclp_vt220_emit will reject buffers with EIO. Unfortunately
register_console will cause the printk buffer to be sent to the
console and, therefore, every early message gets dropped. The
sclp_send_mask is set later during boot, when sclp_vt220_tty_init
calls sclp_register.

The solution is to move the sclp_register call from sclp_vt220_tty_init
to __sclp_vt220_init. This makes sure that the console is properly
registered with the sclp subsystem before the first log buffer messages
are passed to the vt220 console.

We also adopt the cleanup on error to keep the console alive if
tty_register fails.

Thanks to Peter Oberparleiter and Heiko Carstens for review and ideas
for improvement.

The problem seems to be, that with a full console buffer, release_console_sem
disables interrupts with spin_lock_irqsave and then calls the console function
without enabling interrupts. __sclp_vt220_write checks for in_interrupt, to
decide if it can schedule. It should check for in_atomic instead.

The same is true for sclp_tty.c.

Only offline cpus can be put into standby state or configured state.
For that the new percpu sysfs attribute "configure" must be used.
To put a cpu in standby state a "0" must be written to the attribute.
In order to switch it into configured state a "1" must be written to
the attribute.
Only cpus in configured state can be brought online.
In addition this patch introduces a static mapping of physical to
logical cpus. As a result only the sysfs directories of present cpus
will be created. To scan for new cpus the new sysfs attribute "rescan"
must be used.
Writing to /sys/devices/system/cpu/rescan will trigger a rescan of
cpus and will create directories for new cpus.

On IPL only configured cpus will be used. And on reboot/shutdown all
cpus will remain in their current state (configured/standby).
